For the third consecutive year, members Sarah and Chase Wilson have organized the
participation of Hartford and New Haven Counties in the annual global bioblitz City Nature
Challenge that takes place over 4 days during late April. The Mountain Laurel Chapter is
delighted to support Sarah and Chase with 1-year Wild Ones memberships (or extensions to
existing memberships) for the top contributors to the Hartford and New Haven County
challenges. We would love for all of Connecticut to eventually participate in CNC, so if you are
interested, learn more at the City Nature Challenge website and sign up to be notified about
planning for CNC 2027 (There is no obligation to participate).
Meanwhile, you can check out the results of this year’s challenge for Hartford & New Haven
Counties including observations of 34 rare species considered near-threatened to critically
endangered in CT. Read more here…
