OPENING FOR MEMBERSHIP CHAIR ON OUR CHAPTER BOARD
We are seeking a member to serve as Membership Chair (MC) for our chapter, which is a Chapter Board position. After more than 17 years, our Allen Gauthier has decided to segue out of this role; however, he will help train and advise a new Membership Chair.
The Membership Chair reports to the Chapter on membership growth and retention, welcomes new members to our chapter, and surveys members regarding their satisfaction with the Chapter and ideas for changes. This person serves as a liaison between the Chapter members and the Chapter Board and promotes member participation in Chapter activities. The MC facilitates Chapter communications using Mailchimp and is responsible for maintaining our listserv of nonmember email subscribers as well as managing the chapter Gmail account [email protected]
Our Membership Chair is a voting member of the Chapter Board, which meets monthly via Zoom. You need to be able to create a Google account if you do not have one. Prior knowledge of Mailchimp or other digital marketing platform is helpful but not essential (Instruction can be provided). The position typically involves several hours a month in addition to attending a monthly board meeting (typically via Zoom). MEMBER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
HOSPITALITY: We seek a chapter member to be responsible for light refreshments for meetings at Connecticut College and for meetings at other locations which include a social component such as our Annual Members Meeting (and holiday potluck). To learn more or volunteer, contact [email protected].
VOLUNTEER & OUTREACH COORDINATOR: We seek a chapter member to be the “keeper” of Wild Ones display materials, to manage our supply of brochures and handouts and to help sign up volunteers to staff tables at events hosted by other organizations, such as Earth Day/sustainability fairs, nature-themed festivals, Plant Science Day and more.
